Cultural & community engagement

The HSV steering committee dedicates many hours of collaborative consultation to the creation of each Tertulia (a multisensory cultural event). The HSV takes inspiration and advice from Spanish and Latin American community leaders: organizations, institutions, businesses, professionals, as well as local and foreign governments. Bold visions, active and organic participation, collaboration, and adaptation to new times have been key for the HSV to empower itself and the vast community it serves for a common future.
The HSV serves as a launching platform for newcomers to Victoria: new members or guests find an instantly welcoming established community in the organization, and emerging professionals and amateur players find grassroots opportunities to showcase and share their talent and knowledge with the communities that engage at each event organized by the HSV. As a CaLD organization, the HSV values cultural diversity (Indigenous and non-Indigenous), local knowledge, inclusiveness, community building, sustainability, and global/local interfaces.
The HSV is a not-for-profit cultural community organization whose main sources of income are yearly membership fees and raffles organized for each event. The committee of management (CoM) is open to partnerships, exchanges, and/or sponsorships with organizations, institutions, businesses, and local or foreign governments. Collaborations could take the form of financial support or in-kind donations of goods and/or services for the raffle at specific activities like the Gala Night or aligned with a series of monthly cultural celebrations. Partnerships could include but are not limited to providing an artistic act (music, dance, etc.), a cultural presentation, a menu, or a monetary donation to cover any of the items mentioned above.
Please contact the HSV to discuss your idea and how this association could be best cross-promoted. By establishing partnerships with businesses, institutions, and government entities, the HSV can amplify its impact, broaden its reach, and strengthen its capacity to promote Spanish and Latin American cultures and community engagement in Victoria.
A patron could assist the Hispanic Society of Victoria by providing financial support through donations or sponsorships, which would help sustain and expand the organization's cultural programs and events. Additionally, a patron could offer expertise or resources to support specific initiatives or projects, such as providing venues for events, facilitating partnerships with other organizations, or contributing to the development of educational materials. Overall, a patron's involvement would greatly contribute to the HSV's mission of promoting Spanish and Latin American cultures and fostering community engagement in Victoria.
MAKE AN IMPACT.
We'd like to hear from you if you'd like to become part of our extended community.
